Recent research from MIT revealed a startling downside to leaning on ChatGPT for your essays and papers.
Their study tracked brain activity (via EEG) of 18–39-year-olds writing SAT prompts with ChatGPT versus Google Search or no tool at all and the results aren’t pretty:
🚨AI users showed the lowest overall neural engagement, produced increasingly copy-pasted essays, and had weaker memory recall when asked to rewrite their own work without help.
These patterns suggest that overreliance on Large Language Models (LLMs) could stunt critical thinking, creativity, and memory development, especially in young, developing brains.
